This bag will hold a laptop, spare pair of shoes, and enough clothing for a 4-day trip. Of course, with that said, it is heavy to carry and a bit awkward. Probably should use the backpack feature next time, but that's difficult for me since I'm old & my shoulders are stiff. The only reason I didn't give this bag 5 stars is that the side pockets are not deep enough to hold a book or kindle so those items have to be carried in the main compartment & it's not always convenient to retrieve them when the main carrying straps are snapped together. .

  • “What is the material?”

    • I would describe it as a sturdy vinyl coated fabric. It's not rip-stop nylon and not soft-sided suitcase fabric either. I plan to use it as carry-on baggage although the zippers are sturdy and the straps support the bag well (meaning you could check this bag--but it's too attractive to have it ruined by careless bag handlers). Hope this helps.

About Gregory

After designing his first backpack as a Boy Scout at the age of 14, Wayne Gregory dedicated his career to making outstanding gear, a mission that eventually led him to create Gregory Mountain Products in 1977. From the beginning, Gregory backpacks have been engineered using a combination of field research and customer feedback in order to enhance durability, fit and function. The brand has pioneered many industry firsts, such as multiple pack sizes with different frame, harness and waist belt dimensions. They also developed the first waist belt system that offered a variety of hip angles. Not surprisingly, Gregory backpacks have been praised in a wide range of publications, from Backpacker magazine to National Geographic Adventure.
