“I used this pack working on a backcountry trail crew. Living in the backcountry for 6 months with only what I could carry (minus food and other general camp necessities) I found that for this kind of living the pack was too small. But other than that, when you have the comfort of your home to pack and prepare in, then there should be no problems fitting the essentials into this pack. It is comfortable when you carry a reasonable load. 50-60 lbs starts to get quite uncomfortable, mostly because the pack is small and a lot of gear has to be latched, unbalanced, to the outside. If you're not on a trail crew and you're not carrying months worth of gear, this pack is perfect. None of the design flaws of newer Gregory packs (i.e. snapping hip belts) but the wait belt is easier to tighten on the newer Gregory packs. Sometimes I had to have other people pull on the straps for me. Also, even without a rain protector, gear stayed dry inside the pack in extreme downpours.”
