    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I'm small (5'2", 113 lbs) and I have a Gregory XS daypack that is perfect for me, so I was hopeful that this would fit as well. But, it didn't. The hip belt has some rigid plastic parts in it that literally just rubbed me the wrong way. With just a light load on a trial short hike, I ended up aching about the hips for the next 2-3 days. Otherwise the pack seemed well constructed, and the only thing I would have missed feature-wise would have been small pouches along the hip belt. Might work out fine for someone else, but definitely not okay for me.

Love to head out of the city and into the mountains with this backpack. Everything I need for a few days of retreat easily fit. The backpack design makes the weight fairly easy for a small person to carry for six or more hours. I love the way this item helps me enjoy our young earth.

This pack for the price is fantastic. However, I had to return mine (under duress!) because the XS was a bit too small in torso length but perfect in waist belt. I'm 5'4" and measured 16" in the torso ~ about 1/2 to 1" too short. I actually took it to a store to have help in the fit. My suggestion is to go to a store that sells packs & have them measure you. This pack is for more serious outings (overnight, etc.), but for the price it is great for an all-day hike anywhere.

Good pack for weekend backpacking. Used pack for for first time backpacking trip on Appalachian Trail. Excellent pack, very comfortable, No pinch or pressure points. Easily fit gear for weekend. However, lower compartment will only accomodate a down bag that can be compressed very small. My sythentic bag did not fit.
