This backpack will be used for international travel, camping and hiking. The backpack is well-made, durable and comfortable. It is also versatile, in that it can accommodate camping equipment or packed for multi-stop travel--with easy accessibility to items from the top or the bottom.

I have had some previous backpacking experience with Outward Bound, but am otherwise a novice. I bought this pack for my first personal hiking trip and tested it on a five-mile hike through the woods around Nashville, TN, with 30 lbs in the pack. The straps and pads were comfortable and easy to adjust while hiking, and the back had very comfortable cushions with some ventilation. The tall, narrow pack carried weight high and close to my body, good for tight trails through trees and brush. Near the right hip is an easy-access pouch large enough for a Nalgene, long axis parallel to the ground, with an elastic band to hold the Nalgene in place; fantastic for staying hydrated if you don't have a Camelbak. There are straps on the outside, along the side of the pack, for tethering gear. The only downsides might be the lack of small pockets on the outside and the limited amount of space in the pack if you tend to bring a lot of gear. Overall, a great purchase, especially since it was on clearance. I can't wait for my big hiking trip!

Seemed to fit my little sister like a glove and she loves it. I liked it so much, I bought my wife one as well. dumped 50 lbs in it and the suspension was so much better than her old pack that she thought I only put 25 in.

Good size and very adjustable. Heavy and best use for multi day hikes. More than you need for a weekend but good for an expedition. Good winter back for bulky items or carrying extra for your family. A roomy backpack for a woman who can and is willing to carry a load.

We go on weekend trips. The pack is big enough to hold a large sleeping bag, clothing and food. The water bottle holster is handy. The pack also holds a water bladder. The material is very tough. It will survive sharp rock damage. The straps are highly adjustable. The design is tall and thin.

Product is well made, sturdy, attractive and functional. I've yet to take it on an extended hike, but from casual use it appears to be an excellent fit for my needs and frame and I'm not particularly tiny at 5'4" 120 pounds. I've loved Gregory packs in the past, but didn't want to spend $200+ so this was a perfect deal (for me!).

I used this pack working on a backcountry trail crew. Living in the backcountry for 6 months with only what I could carry (minus food and other general camp necessities) I found that for this kind of living the pack was too small. But other than that, when you have the comfort of your home to pack and prepare in, then there should be no problems fitting the essentials into this pack. It is comfortable when you carry a reasonable load. 50-60 lbs starts to get quite uncomfortable, mostly because the pack is small and a lot of gear has to be latched, unbalanced, to the outside. If you're not on a trail crew and you're not carrying months worth of gear, this pack is perfect. None of the design flaws of newer Gregory packs (i.e. snapping hip belts) but the wait belt is easier to tighten on the newer Gregory packs. Sometimes I had to have other people pull on the straps for me. Also, even without a rain protector, gear stayed dry inside the pack in extreme downpours.

I have had this pack for several years and couldn't be happier! I am a small person (5'0") but solidly built so I got a size small. I can carry a lot of weight with this pack and experience no discomfort. The previous commenter's statement that the sleeping bag compartment is small is correct however you can detach the panel that separates it from the rest of the pack (this pack has lots of fancy features- not a basic pack at all). This pack is REALLY large though. I've gone on 5 day summer trips that haven't used it to full capacity. And I don't let the boys carry all the weight...
