I usually hiking in Catskill regions in Upstate NY and occasionally to New Hampshire. This is my favorite backpack to use. Light weight, various necessary compartments and includes a rain cover! I'm about 5"7 , 140lbs. I ordered medium size that fits comfortable. 5 of my hiking friends took my advise to order this wonderful backpack as well!

I received the backpack and was pleasantly surprised at the features I had not initially noticed: rainfly, expanded/compacted options, and thumb hooks. It is an excellent addition to our camping/hiking gear!

No, this didn’t fit me. The version that was my correct torso length did not have the load-lifter straps located so I could get the pack to sit at the right angle. The feature that is selling me on the newer version of the Jade 38 is the adjustable back length. Somehow, the newer version just fits me really comfortably. Now I know.
