Wow, is this a nice bag! I'm using mine as a tool bag for my cordless drill and all it's accessories. It's the perfect size. Finally, everything is in one place so I can conveniently grab and go.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Gregory Messenger Bag

This bag is indeed NOT an 11L capacity bag by any calculation. It is in fact a 6L bag which makes it a good medium size messenger bag. The material makes it very water resistant and the main bag is spacious enough to fit my bike helmet. The really bad part for me is that the shoulder strap and auxiliary strap MUST be worn over the left shoulder (this is my injured shoulder [old bicycle accident] so it is tough to wear while riding).

I'm a usually a backpack person because shoulder side bags get in my way too much, but when I saw this bag for about $15 I couldn't resist. The strap is wide and holds the bag in place. The fabric is super durable. It's not as big as the backpacks I usually carry, but it's perfect for what I really need. It has 2 pockets on the outside for organizing - small notepad, pens, chapstick, one large zipper pocket on the inside with a clip so you don't lose your keys, and a large section to throw everything else into. I love that it has a zipper to enclose the main section to keep everything secure.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Only half as big as advertised

The bag can only hold 6 liters while Gregory (or STP) states a 12L capacity. How can I tell? I have one in my hand

My bag measures 12"x4"(base) height 9"

The sides view shows a top thickness narrower than the base. Taking the true shape into account, I get 351 cu in = 5.75L

Adding some capacity for the 2 outside pockets, I round it up to 6L

There is really no justification for the 2-fold exaggeration in product spec. No matter how I measure it I did't get 10.5x13x5" (which imples 682 cu in, NOT 732 on your spec!)

Got the black. Waterproof. Convenient quick adjust sling. Very roomy. Seat beat material sling is super comfy. Crazy low price makes this a steal.

About Gregory

After designing his first backpack as a Boy Scout at the age of 14, Wayne Gregory dedicated his career to making outstanding gear, a mission that eventually led him to create Gregory Mountain Products in 1977. From the beginning, Gregory backpacks have been engineered using a combination of field research and customer feedback in order to enhance durability, fit and function. The brand has pioneered many industry firsts, such as multiple pack sizes with different frame, harness and waist belt dimensions. They also developed the first waist belt system that offered a variety of hip angles. Not surprisingly, Gregory backpacks have been praised in a wide range of publications, from Backpacker magazine to National Geographic Adventure.
