“Sleek little messenger . . . with flaws”

“The Swerve is a sleek little messenger bag from Gregory. Lifting up the softshell flap you find 2 softshell slip in pockets and a zipper which closes the main compartment. Along the back is another slim zippered compartment. The long strap is adjustable and comfortable to wear. There are two very small slip in pockets on the sides - too small for an iPhone, but perhaps a Nano would fit. This bag is perfect for travel, as it not only has a flap, but also a zipper closure, making it very secure. I like the sleek styling, and of course it is stellar Gregory quality. But . . . I had to return it. When stuffed full (water bottle, book, epipen, wallet, phone, keys, snack), the flap didn't stay shut, and as the softshell material is somewhat stiff, the whole flap stuck out away from the bag. If the bag had a buckle or velcro closure I think there wouldn't be this problem, but the magnetic closure is placed too far down and is not strong enough to keep the flap in place. If you don't stuff your bags full, then this one should work for you. The brown color is gorgeous!”
