Its a roomy, comfortable pack that served me well on its maiden trip. Materials and craftmanship are such that it should do so well into the future as well.

I only have one pack to compare to and that is the Kelty Coyote 4000 (womans and mens- I have used both). What I liked better about the Gregory was that it was a bit smaller(3600) and better at compacting my goods inside, but on just about every other front I was wishing for my coyote back. I found that the base of the pack kind of pressed into my lumbar area, which overall made the pack a bit uncomfortable for me. Otherwise this does seem to be a quality product and may fit another body type better. So my opinion is kind of neutral, just not right for me, so I am planning to return it.

Haven't used it on the extended weekend yet, just some five mile hikes, is very comfortable, easy to adjust and has alot of pockets and extra straps. Great so far.
