This was a great value - we bought this for our 12 year old boy scout in size small, which was a bit too large for him, but may last him a couple years, we hope. His first trip was a backpack weekend in the White Mountains of NH in the rain. It was easy to pack, and comfortable on his skinny hips, and waterproof. He put clothes in the sleeping bag area, because that area was too small for his sleeping bag.

I took this backpack to a 3 days 2 nights hunting trip. It performs flawlessly! The good suspension system makes the pack very comfortable carry. The size is perfect for a short weekend trip. I encountered a brief period of light rain but not enought to judge on how this pack perform in wet weather. So far I am very happy with the design and workmanship of this model.

This is a very nice backpack. Tons of extra straps. It looks nice, holds gear very well. Does not feel or look bulky, even when packed to the brim. The only thing about it is that the shoulder straps only have two adjustments. However, if you try on the Triconi 60 in the store, and it fits, this model will fit. This is an older model but better looking and the hip straps are more comfortable. The price is awesome. Also it is very dirt resistant.

Have only used it once so far - ~ 35 mile o/n hike. So, the pack was very comfortable. Gregory's claims of comfort seem true. Has a VERY durable/water-proof bottom [nice feature compared to other bags]. Supposedly, Gregory's adjustable hip-belt and suspension causes the bag to have lower max carring weight ~ 40lbs. I never really got close to that, so I can't comment, just be aware in case you're one of those "over-packers." Great deal and price for a solid Gregory pack [...]. Would make GREAT first pack.

I use my pack for weekend trips. It's just the right size! Gregory pays close attention to detail, a reinforced bottom, welded seam zippers, easy to make all adjustments, good stitching, comfortable on the shoulders and around the hips for hours of hiking, roomy compartments.
