Reviewed by Casual slippers from Wyo on Thursday, March 13, 2014It is a bit small but thats perfect for me i have used it snowshoeing and skiing and is a great size for a day adventure. I can fit my water, snacks leashes and all my accessories just fine and not be weighed down.
Reviewed by Rver from New Mexico on Thursday, December 26, 2013Perfect for my son who goes on quick hikes
Reviewed by Geoff from New York on Thursday, October 24, 2013Feels grafted into my spine. But in a good way.
Reviewed by Mostly Mama from Bellingham on Friday, September 20, 2013Based on the reviews regarding sizing I thought I'd try this pack for my 8 year old son. The fit is good when all the straps are cinched tight, but I'm concerned about carrying capacity. He's in an Explorers Club out on hikes in the woods for about 4 or 5 hour at a time in the Pacific Northwest. I think water, an extra layer, rain gear and lunch will all fit, but there's little space for much else, and we're talking average 8 year old size clothing. Maybe we'll try it out on little sister (6 years old.) Would recommend only for minimalist day hikes for children; I don't think this could possibly be sized for an adult. On the positive side, the construction is great and I'm sure we'll get many years of use out of this pack between the 2 kids.
Reviewed by AJ from Pennsylvania on Monday, September 9, 2013The pack was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it has been working out great for day hikes. Plenty of room to hold a full hydration bladder, rain gear, and extra layers.
Question & Answer
“How packable is this backpack? I am looking for a small daypack that I can cram into my larger duffel bag when I fly and that wont take up too much space.”
It has a padded back panel but you should be able to cram it into a larger duffel bag.
“Does this backpack have side pockets for water bottles? The picture looks like it could, but it doesn't say in the details”
The pack has side mesh pockets that could hold water bottles.
The Gregory Wasatch 12 Backpack does not have a compartment specially designed for a helmet.
