I was looking for a mid-size pack for winter hiking and snowshoeing. I looked at many packs but kept coming back to this one. It includes a raincover, a comfortable hip belt, and I can secure my snowshoes fairly easily. The sleeping bag compartment stores my emergency gear as well as items I want to get at quickly. I found the pack to be comfortable when loaded (30 pounds)and easy to adjust when moving, though the straps tended to stay secure. If you are looking for a nice day pack or overnighter you cannot go wrong with the Gregory Z40.

I bought the Gregory Diva from Sierra Trading Post last year around this time, so it was not the exact model shown. It made 2 major trips with me last August, for a total of 32 trail miles, and I have not one complaint. In fact, although my boyfriend also has a Gregory, he was envious of all the accessible pockets, and I ended up carrying the things we needed convenient access to on the trail. It fits a forest service bear canister without a problem, and room for a 3-night trip to boot. I love the convenient sleeping bag compartment, and a tent straps on the bottom very easily. I'm 5'5", and the frame fit me perfectly, though getting the shoulder straps just right took a few miles. I love this pack!

This is my first purchase of a heavy duty backpack, and this one lives up to my expectations. Intelligent design with the user in mind and a female-specific fit make this a great choice!

Gregory z40 Backpack Gregory did not exist in the traditional backpack rain cover, often coming to adopt Korea's terrain is very useful. Backpack and starts a cross-flow is applied to a very cool sweat makes deungeori tired. Medium Backpack by separating part of being a sleeping bag using the zipper allows you to put to subtract the jimjeongrireul smoothly. This point of hiking backpack to take out what you need ... even if the whole a very good thing if you are deuleonael suspenders are easily adjusted and various kkeundeungyi too. At a reasonable price with good quality and can have a good backpack is so happy. Drew a good backpack. THANK YOU....

  • Gregory Muir 24 Backpack
By JacobVerified Purchaser from Los angeles on 02/14/2012
    Pros:
Feels light when on, Good Sized Compartments
    Cons:
    Doesn't stand on its own
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The bag is nice and sturdy with a good amount off space. Also there are lots of tie points which is great. My only complaints (and they aren't too significant because they're outside the normal scope of use) so far are that it isn't great for around the town stuff because there aren't small compartments for lots of pencils and wallet. Also, the bag falls over when you put it down.
