I used this puppy as a ski mountaineering pack. Bought last minute online when some straps on a Deuter I had broke. Arrived before I set out, and served me well.

Side compression straps work very well to carry skis in an A frame style or vertically. Seem more prone to carry them vertically.

The whole thing is 100% recycled PET bottles. Didn't know that til I bought it, pretty cool.

I carried somewhere around 55 lbs without my skis with Dukes and boots, so had to be pushing 65 lbs on bootpacks. This thing carried the weight quite well. Good distribution to hips. Nice chest strap with elastic on the left breast strap, kind of auto-adjusts. Two long zippers run down the front panel, giving you front access if you need it.

I was able to ski down with ~50lbs on my back. That's a testament to the fit. I'm 5'11, 165, big shoulders. I had the adjustable back opened to above the Large setting. That adjustment is my only complaint - it's velco on two sides of a piece of fabric. Once I got it dialed in, it held, but I spent about an hour throwing 50 lbs around my back to get that velcro to stick right. Once I figured it out, it did, though.

I pushed this thing probably past its limits the first time I used it, and it performed quite well. Great deal now (3/14) at under $130. Quite pleased.

Too narrow for me, otherwise great. Absolutely essential! for what I did.
I needed in wide width. Don't know if available or an option on site.

Got this bag for shorter trips for me, and for one of my sons to use on longer trips since the torso size can go small, and it's easy to adjust. There's an 8-minute video on YouTube with a guy giving a full demo (I think he's speaking Russian) that was very helpful before I made the purchase. Shows most of the features and details. Out of the box, I was concerned that it would be too small to fit my compressed sleeping bag in the bottom, but after a quick check, when fully compressed my sleeping bag fits snug in the bottom. Even with the main compartment zipper all the way down the side, this is a bag that will require taking most of the contents out to get your sleeping bag out -- but that's to be expected. Overall the materials, zippers, and all features appear to be very durable and high quality. For the Deal Flyer price, I'm very happy with this purchase.
