Ok, so a milk frother is by no means a necessary piece of outdoor gear... However, if you want to create fancy cafe beverages in the outdoors, this is GREAT and FUN item to bring along! Previous reviews stated that the lack of mesh layer causes the milk not to foam. But if you knew how annoying it is to scrub dairy residue out of mesh, you would understand why I am thrilled there is NO MESH on this frother. I took my frothing kit outside, added water and milk powder, started to pump, and had microfoam (thick layers of the soft tiny bubbles) in less than a minute! Make sure the lid is well sealed on, or you'll have a bit of a milk spill from the pumping. LOVE it!

It's weird. I don't have anything bad to say about this spork, but everyday I reached into my kit, I would choose a fixed utensil over this slider every time. When I was tired, hungry and just want food and sleep, I found myself not wanting to deal with the bits of chow that get stuck in a mechanical spork. I guess some things are already simple enough. Making them slide doesn't improve them.
