guideline makes amazing polarized fishing glasses, especially these with the glass lenses. Great coverage, excellent visibility and protection. Very comfortable. The glass lenses are heavier than other types they make. If you want lighter weight, try their other lenses, also very good. ... Read More

I purchased my first couple of pairs of Guideline sunglasses (polycarbonate lens) to keep as cheap spares on my boat...as I often take out of town visitors and clients who are not boat people. I figured with the discounts I received here it was a good way to optimize their boating experience for a very good price. After the first pair........I was hooked, the optical clarity of both the poly lenses as well as this "Rio" with glass lenses was incredible, the polarization is great and the quality is fantastic. My family and I have several pairs of Costa del Mar glasses at between $200-$250 each and these are very very comparable in quality and optical clarity. I think I am at around 10 pair and have only been disappointed when they fly off of someones face and into the ocean. The price to quality ratio is OUTSTANDING.

P.S. I have only tried the brown/bronze lens color and have not tried any of their made in China products.

Guideline Rio is the real deal. High quality frame. Precision ground glass lens. Lenses are not particularly dark, perhaps a little less dimming than average. I ordered another pair as soon as I discovered the value.

These glasses are not light-weight as they would be if the lenses were polycarb, but they are not as heavy as I expected.

They fit my average male face very well.

The styling leaves a little to be desired, but the clarity when looking through these is amazing. I just use them for driving and no extra sunlight gets in and they are very comfortable to wear.

Guideline no longer offers the G3 glass lenses. I had a pair for about 4 years. Someone else liked them better than I did. I ordered 2 pair of glasses with the G3 lenses. This is a great buy. They say Guideline Elite Rio on the box. I like these better than the Costa's. I'm not a fan of Polycarbonate lenses . The glass lenses are much harder to scratch.

I was looking to buy some Costa's and found these when I googled "glass lens sunglasses". I initially bought the Amber and Grey lenses on a whim based on price and previous reviews. I was more than surprised at the quality given the price point. I have Maui Jims; Bolle; Costa's and others that will all eventually wind up in the bottom of the lake; but for the money these are the best I have seen. As a side note; I was helping a family dock their boat and dropped my amber lens glasses out of my pocket into the lake. Typical ending for any of my glasses or cell phones. I bought a new pair the next day.
