I needed a sheer curtain and I wanted a natural fiber. These curtains are 100% cotton, but the the fabric was not pre-shrunk so I expect they may shrink a little when they are washed. They also don't appear very sturdy and should not be used as a stand alone... definately layer.

The workmanship on these curtains is exceptionally good. Every edge and hem is even, neat and secure. The cotton fabric has a more natural, less formal look than polyester sheers while still being neat. As for sheerness, one pair on a 40" wide window lets in a lot of light, but is still quite private. You can just see out through them during the day, and at night you cannot see into the room from outdoors even with plenty of lights on inside. This surprised me - I thought I would need to use additional curtains or a window shade for night time privacy. Perhaps if I was using them in a bedroom I still would just to be sure. After being washed in cold water and then put in the dryer on low for less than ten minutes (in order to come out damp for easier ironing) these curtains shrank in length 3 inches to a total of 81" in length. They definitely needed to be ironed, which is not a plus, but at least the rumples came out easily.

I returned this product so I never used it, but the quality of the material was not what I was looking for. When I opened the package and looked at the curtains, I saw a stiff starchy material that wouldn't drape well on the windows. Equally important is the fact that I don't have time to hand-wash and iron my curtains. The catalog stated that the material was 50% cotton and 50% polyester. However, the item I received was 100% cotton.

I will use these temporarily until I get permanent window coverings.

Although it was hard to tell from the picture, the ivory were very light and sheer. Lovely.

I like the look of the curtains. I had to steam iron them to get the wrinkles out. They look nice. There were some ink marks on a couple of them when they arrived but in a spot where it doesn't show, so I didn't send them back. The look over all is good especially for the price.
