Pretty good fit. I got a bigger size to wear them over the pants. Haven't used them in the rain yet, but I put them under the running water, water ran off in droplets which is a good sign.

The purpose of size zip pants is to be able to take the pants off and on without taking your shoes off and on. You cannot do that with thses because the zippers do not go all the way to the top. You need to insert your feet through the top of the pants. So if you are out in the woods in a sudden rainstorm trying to put these on, you will get the inside of the pants all wet. Sort of defeats the purpose of the pants. In addition, I think they are ridiculously overpriced for what you get. These are a single thickness of fabric with a gore-tex-like membrane on one side. There is no lining. They are lightweight, but no lighter than the ones of similar quality made by the brand named after a alpine rodent, and those pants retail for about a third of what these sell for. Returned them and will probably not buy this brand again.

I did have to order a size larger so just be aware that these pants run a bit smaller that other brands. The full length side zippers are excellent for easy on/off. I like these pants so much that I recommended them to a friend and she bought a pair. These will definitely part of our gear on our 2013 rainforest expedition. These are amazing waterproof pants.

Photography trek in Rwanda where we will encounter sudden downpours and it's difficult to put on and take off rain gear so gear that zips open down the leg to vent when it's not raining is ideal.
