I bought this product for a backcountry ski trip in February, but intended to use it for spring/summer/fall hiking as well, so needed something that could accommodate up and down layering. Generally I'm a size small, being 5'4", 125 lbs, 34B bust. To be safe I ordered a size medium. This size nicely accommodated a Hot Chili's body liner, lightweight fleece, and primaloft jacket. My objections to the jacket involve the pockets. Others have already addressed the inside pockets, so I won't discuss that issue. The exterior pockets zip all the way up into the armpits, however. Waterproof, but not at all made to accommodate a pack of any size = to get into the pockets you have to take off the pack! My other objection is that the pocket zippers buckle, looking weird even when the jacket is stuffed with undergarments. Too bad I can't use it - the hood, although large, is very adjustable, and the jacket itself is lightweight, is long enough in the back to scoop nicely around the rear, and overall is very well made. Hate to have to return it!

I bought this jacket to travel with. It is thin enough to pack easily, but the fit isn't large enough to layer underneath. For travel to warm climates, and for our Florida rainstorms, I'm sure it will be a great jacket.

I was not familiar with this brand so it was fully inspected upon arrival. I think that it is well made, with nice detailing. The inside collar is lined so your chin stays cozy when you zip up. Also, the pockets are nice and roomy as well as adequately stitched onto the shell. I should mention that the pockets are also lined so it you forgot gloves your hands won't freeze. This is a terrific windbreaker and waterproof to the nines but it is designed only as a shell so if the temperature is low you'll need to get one large enough to be able to wear a layer underneath. I also liked that the color was not red, blue, grey or black. I'm not sure what color this is but it works well with most of my stuff. All in all I am pleased with the quality of this jacket and would buy it again.

This is a great jacket. It is the perfect windproof, waterproof shell if you buy it big enough to layer under it. I am usually a 4-6 on top but I went with the large in this jacket so that I could wear layers. If I were just wearing it around town, it would probably look a little big. It is long enough to cover the rear and it has cinching around the bottom so that you can create a powder skirt, or leave loose. It's styling is very flattering and the price at STP is unbeatable. The color is gorgeous and it is very well made. I am very happy with this purchase.

My husband & I are traveling to S. America soon & will eventually be living there. There are reportedly 2 seasons where we're moving-rainy & dry. We found a rain jacket for him...a replacement for one he bought at STP nearly 15 years ago. No kidding! And my old Gore-tex one from STP is about 12 years old, still works fine, but I am just plain bored with it. Also, my old model is a bit heavy for travel. I struggled to find an appropriate shell with some color and style. I stumbled onto this Haglof one. This is not a brand with which I was familiar, but at the original retail price, I figured this shell had to be well made, etc. Well, it's lived up to my expectations & has real pizzazz! It's in 2 tones of aqua, comfortable, light weight, & breathable. The arms are a little on the long side, but I wouldn't include this as a "Con" since the velco closures at the cuffs take care of this & is not noticable. [...]
