This is a fantastic windbreaker - wonderfully soft (for a rip-stop nylon type fabric) fabric, great coverage with the length and hood, cheerful orange netting inside, and my favorite feature - PIT ZIPS! Only drawback is it isn't waterproof, meaning I had to order a second very similar coat that IS waterproof and still very lightweight & packable. Only kept this one too because of the pit zips and I just love it so much. A note about Haglofs sizing: it isn't as advertised by STP. I wear a small, which is a 36 or 38 in Haglofs (in this, a 36). A 38 is NOT an 8, etc. Order larger for your usual size.

I needed a very thin jacket for warm but rainy weather and I got this Sirocco windstopper by Haglofs. While the zipper and seams are not sealed, the fabric itself is waterproof (rain drops simply roll off it). The hood is very practical and the adjustments it has work great. As the other reviewer observed, it is a very nice jacket, made with great attention to details (Haglofs quality) and the pea-green and orange colours make a very nice combination together (the entire inner side of the jacket is lined with an orange mesh/net fabric). Size: I am US size 4 and Eur 36 (34"-25"-36" chest-waist-hips) and I got this jacket in size 36; it runs larger than other Haglofs items I have, I'd say it is US size 4-6, leaning more to 6. On a try, I was able to comfortably wear a thin/light down jacket underneath this windstopper and it fit well. As I mentioned, I got this jacket to wear on warm but rainy days, without much layering underneath, and the size 36 still looks fine on me. Also, the jacket is made a little longer, covering the entire torso. It's a nice jacket for what I need.

I recently gave this jacket an ultimate test of its water-stopping ability: I wore it at the Niagara Falls. I passed on taking a raincoat provided by the tourist bureau and, instead, wore this windstopper by Haglofs to protect me from water, lots of water. I am so pleased with its performance that I decided to share my observations. I wore it in the areas of the Niagara Falls (allowed to tourists – but most tourists bail out from going there to avoid getting soaked wet) where the water was splashing so hard that I could not keep my eyes open; despite that, my hair under the hood and my clothes stayed dry. The hood was sitting comfortably on my head, without a chance of it being blown by the wind. The front zipper and the side pocket zippers are not sealed (the orange zipper fabric was wet) and yet my clothes underneath and the items in my pockets were completely dry (my pants, not covered by the jacket, got completely soaked). Lastly, let the water simply dribble off your jacket, don't touch it. Rubbing it, touching it at the time of it being exposed to water may cause it to be less water-proof. I highly recommend this jacket.

I was looking for a lightweight softshell jacket to use ice climbing, and this one was the best. Lightweight, didn't restrict movement, helmet-compatible hood, windproof, and water resistant - coupled with various insulating layers, this kept me comfortable in windy conditions in the teens. Downsides: original construction mesh pockets were loose, and kept turning inside out whenever you pulled something out with a gloved hand. Easily corrected by tacking the pocket down from the inside with a needle and thread. Also, hood space cord adjustments ran around the outside of the hood where they could easily snag branches always found at tops of climbs. Easy fix to simply remove it; the hood fit my helmet well without them.

Backpacked 8 miles in the rain with this jacket and stayed dry. SO comfortable. Love the hood. Zipper hard to get started though. Very nice fabric and color. Just love it!
