“I was looking for a lightweight softshell jacket to use ice climbing, and this one was the best. Lightweight, didn't restrict movement, helmet-compatible hood, windproof, and water resistant - coupled with various insulating layers, this kept me comfortable in windy conditions in the teens. Downsides: original construction mesh pockets were loose, and kept turning inside out whenever you pulled something out with a gloved hand. Easily corrected by tacking the pocket down from the inside with a needle and thread. Also, hood space cord adjustments ran around the outside of the hood where they could easily snag branches always found at tops of climbs. Easy fix to simply remove it; the hood fit my helmet well without them.”
