The construction was solid, and these look to be otherwise great winter mountaineering pants. But some significant drawbacks: I ordered a short inseam and apparently Haglofs just chops the pants shorter with no tapering. So when I wore them it looked like I was wearing bell bottoms; with crampons on the potential snagging could have been a safety issue. The internal gaiter is a good idea, but there are no eyelets or tabs on the gaiters to connect cord to prevent the snow from pushing them up when potholing in deep snow. The drawstring that is provided just won't cut it in deep snow. If they fixed the cut and gaiters these would be superb, but they are not something I'd recommend.
