Design is a little different than the typical hiking boot which I like. I wore them right out of the box with no break-in issues. (I haven't worn them in wet vconditions yet.) I would buy them again!

Reviewed by Kilo Kilo from Baltimore, MD on Saturday, January 12, 2013Nice quality leather and sole, and they fit true to size (maybe just a tad big, for thick socks...which I know contradicts other reviews, but that is what I experienced). The deal breaker was that you cannot tighten the boot around the ankle area, it is very odd - you can pull hard but the boot won't close around the ankle, AND the shoe laces are on the cheap side (probably break very soon)

Reviewed by world traveler from concord, NC on Saturday, November 24, 2012stiff but durable ...waterproof but lacks venting cause of goretex..slips on wet surfaces,but you can't feel rocks or debris on trails due to thick sole which doesn;t make you feel tired after a long day of hiking.need to order a half a size larger for space due to foot bed molds to your foot which is so sweet and doesn;t create hot spots coming down the mountain.

Reviewed by Becky from West Virginia on Monday, October 08, 2012I have a narrow foot and I have to wear a medium sock with these boots. They are too narrow for a thick sock. I drive a lot for my job, that I wear these boots for, and I have to loosen them to drive long distances in them. They are a well made boot that give my ankles lots of support. I can walk all day on concrete in them and my feet don't hurt at all. Some days I drive a lot and other days I work in a warehouse.
