I think my husband would think it is too much, but I like it. There isn't a lot of shine, but some of the shapes are highlighted. The "shininess" certainly doesn't cover the entire design, so not too "in-your-face." I ordered it because the highlighted design seems to be the trend now, the shirt is by Hanes, and I could get quite a bit of use out of it without investing a lot in a trend.
The fabric is soft, light-weight, and does launder well. I don't like my clothes close-fitted, so I could have gone up a size and not been disappointed, but I kept what I ordered; it'll be o.k.
I've already worn it with a black vest and a black sweater, and it looks good. -

My friend seemed very pleased as she is the one who is suited to adventurous colors. :) She loves the subtle shimmer of design. Excellent buy.

I didn't like the length of the sleeves so I cut them off at the elbow and rolled them up. Ordered size up for boxy fit, I don't like form fitting.

The small was too tight for my 99 pound mother, and even the medium after washing was tight in the sleeves and bust. If you have a bust, you'll need the L or XL.
