TL;DR: I would pick these over the Asolo Fugitives with no regrets.
I bought a pair of these and a pair of Asolo's at the same time so this review will compare the two pairs of boots. The main benefit that the Asolo's have over this pair of Hanwags is that the Asolos have better stylings. The asolo's are curvier & have nicer color patterns wheras the Hanwags are blockier and slightly more plain. The Asolo's are noticeably lighter as well but should be since the lugs on the hanwags are better.
The Hanwags are considerably more comfortable and they offer a lot more support, especially at the ankles. I definitely wear the Hanwags when working or when i am going to be wearing them all day. One nice benefit to the Hanwags is that the laces stay tied. I've already wrecked the aglets on the Asolo's and i've only had them for 2 weeks.
I wear a 12 W for most shoes and but got these in 12.5 (US size). These fit quite well although i wish there was just a little more wiggle room in the toes.
The outsoles are thick and durable and even re-soleable. The product description says the lugs are self cleaning however i found that sticky dog poo required a tooth pick and running water.
The midsole is stiff and has very little flex. This makes standing on a ladder, rock etc. comfortable for long periods of time.
The eyelets on the sides of the boot (near the ankles) clamp down on the shoe string nicely to prevent slack from entering into the top laces when tying, but then again this is a standard feature of good boots.
The tops of the boots are quite comfortable around the ankles as well.
Overall I am very pleased with these boots. If i could change a few things it would be: Make the toe area about 1/4" wider to allow for more toe wiggle room. Offer a better insole, i will be replacing mine soon enough but shouldnt have too with good boots.
