Reviewed by D Rambone from Oklahoma on Sunday, January 26, 2014I bought these as I was looking for a nice hiking style shoe. I was originally looking at Merrells, but these caught my eye. As I read reviews and visited the Hanwag website, I definitely wanted a pair of Hanwags. Ordered these in a UK9 as I normally wear US 9.5-10. I recommend ordering a half size down on these. As soon as you pull them out of the box, you can see and feel the quality materials and craftsmanship. Quality soft yet thick leather on the outside, buttery soft glove leather-lined inside collar, and clean stitching. Walking around in them for the first time, they felt great on my feet. Extremely comfortable and sturdy feeling. The top part of the heel is kind of high, so it rubbed my Achilles and made it uncomfortable for the first couple of times. But after that they fit like butta. I haven't had any issues since. I am a new fan Hanwag and plan on buying some hiking boots for cold weather. I also have a pair of Lowa boots, and there is nothing like good German-made footwear. Blows all the made in China stuff out of the water!
Reviewed by lowco2 from Reno, Nevada on Friday, December 27, 2013These seem very nicely made and of good quality. I bought them mostly for getting around town when we have snow and bad weather and so far they have been really nice. Tread has good traction and works much better than the worn ones I am replacing with these. Plus I think they look nice enough to wear to work on those kind of days.
