Bought this paddle because I thought it was a great deal for a back-up whitewater paddle, plus it was a crank shaft. I used it twice on flat water in my tourning boat, just for play and a workout. I used it for the first time on whitewater in my ww boat and the shaft broke complely in half at the right bend. I was only a 1/2 hour into my first run and I was ferrying from one eddy to another then snap! The shaft must have had a defective spot or crack in the layup that just folded in half when the force of the water on a simple ferry move was placed on the blade. [...] it's worth another try, but I am going to be very cautious.

This pfd is built along the lines of a whitewater pfd with foam used as the floatation material. It must be pulled over your head to don, but is very comfortable once on, and the straps are very easy to adjust for a comfortable fit. The pfd rides low on your body and leaves your arms free for paddle strokes. The only real drawback is that there are no pockets for storage.

It has a flexible shaft with powerful blades, 198 cms is just too long for my liking and the 30 degree offset is higher than what I like. The blades are large, so I don't think it would be very good for playboating. I was doubtful at first but am very impressed so far with the quality of this paddle and the price can't be beat.

I have used this system for over 10 years (about 4 times per year). Good value, inexpensive, fits lots of vehicles (small and large). I have carried my canoe using this system on a honda hatchback up to a minivan. *you may have to purchase additional straps if these are not long enough for your vehicle though.

I bought this as a secondary skirt for colder paddling when I wear more gear and need a larger tunnel. However, I sent it back because I didn't realize what rand-sytle this was from the photos, and it is a type that is very difficult to get on and off the boat. This is not much of a deal over other entry-level skirts that are much easier to get on and off, and I'll pay the extra for the ease of use. The rest of construction seemed okay, but who cares if you have to wrestle with it for an hour at the put-in or it pops off in a hole.

Shock cord on outside of skirt is not easy to attach. The skirt did not fit my Dagger GT 8.1, 19 x 34 inch cockpit, was not taut when installed on the boat. The neoprene deck is thin and seems like it would implode in heavy hydraulics.

I ordered this according to the size listed on the web site. It was way larger than stated. Not only would it not fit the boat I ordered it for, it also was still too large for my other boat that is larger than my first boat. IF it fits your boat, it is well made and looks like it would have worked out well if it fits.
