The look of excitement, happiness, and gratitude were expressed through her eyes and smile! The umbrella's color and graphics of the dogs were more vivid than what I expected, far more beautiful than the photos on the website. The child-size was perfect for her and I speculate she will be able to use it for a few years as she continues to grow. She easily handled the velcro strap to wrap up the umbrella when closed. We have been inundated with so much rain in the PNW these past few months and this little girl is so excited to have her own umbrella. This was such a practical gift that definitely turned into one of the Christmas highlights for this precious little girl. After teaching her how to properly open and close the umbrella, her dad taught her how to properly carry it so as not to hurt anyone. The umbrella does not arrive in its own box, but STP did a fantastic job shipping it in an extra long box with plenty of padding.

The umbrella is so sturdy with an emphasis on safety for the kiddos. Not to mention, the patterns are so adorable. I don't care I wasn't able to buy matching raincoats, because they would grow out of the raincoat before the umbrella breaks.

My child had no difficulty opening it without help. The size is perfect for K-3 school kids and small adults. I wish Hatley made larger umbrellas for older kids.
