The fabric was unexpected, and I debated returning the hat, but it is stylish and adds a unique flair to the traditional fedora. Unfortunately, you cannot wash the hat, so you will have to take care. I just looked on the Helen Kaminski website, and they say you cannot wear it in the rain! I live in snow country, so it's not very practical for me.
