I was a little disappointed. This book provides lots of information about things like getting water and different fuel sources and cooking stoves while camping, which might be useful if you've never camped before in your life. However, having camped, all that info is extraneous. I was hoping for more recipes and lightweight food ideas, and this is written more for kayakers than backpacker/hikers. Unless you really don't have a clue about cooking outdoors you would probably be better to just use the recipes in various backpacking magazines.
