Reviewed by Inessa Parker from Ukraine on Thursday, February 11, 2016I bought these boots for my father. He said they are very warm. He uses them at work in the coldstore where it is always -5F. These boots have a large toe box and they are perfect for wide feet. My dad's normal size is 11 extra wide or 11,5 wide (28,7cm). I bought 12 and they fit comfort from the first time without any break in period.
Can't beat the price. Thanks STP.
Reviewed by I. M. Happy from CALIFORNIA on Saturday, December 19, 2015Who would have guessed that the picture is very accurate in depicting the fact that the tongue is too short for these boots. As long as hi-tec has been making boots, you'd think that would be out of the question. Maybe they are actually seconds.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mr. G from NJ on Thursday, September 3, 2015Got these boots on clearance for $30. A back up boot for work and not hiking. Great value for the money. Expect to have them for quite a while. Haven't tried them out in the snow as yet.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by David Guy from New York City on Wednesday, August 19, 2015Bottom line: I bought these on the premise that even if they last only one rough winter, I'd have my money's worth. I'm holding out hope.
a) The boots are toasty and comfortable while rugged.
b) There is some weird lateral curvature to the insole so that the middle of the foot sits lower than the sides. It makes for a weird fit, perhaps what the folks in the "not wide enough" crowd mean.
c) The boots are kind of ugly. It's not a huge problem since I'm more frugal and less fashion-conscious than the city I live in, but I am inclined to question the pharmaceutical inclinations of those who like the way they look.
Long story: I saw the reviews about these boots not being wide enough... and, as a person with medium-wide feet, I got nervous and ordered 11s, one size up from what I normally wear. They were too long. No surprises there. That said, the boots are warm and the price was right. I contemplated keeping the wrong size and compensating somehow -- stuffing the toe? -- but my wife convinced me that I was being ridiculous. She also believes that the stitching (too close to the end of the fabric for her comfort), the cheap laces and general craftsmanship indicate the boots will not last for long. Time will tell, I suppose.
P.S. The SierraTradingPost exchange went smoothly.

This item is only available in whole sizes. If you wear a half size, we suggest you order the next size up. For example, if you wear an 8.5 we recommend you order a 9.
I wear size 10.5 and ordered size 11 and they fit perfectly.
I took half size order up to mean that it's recommended to order a half size larger. I normally take size 10.5 and I ordered size 11. I figured since they were insulated for winter I could always enhance with heavy wool socks if they were too loose but 11s worked fine. I think they run a little narrow hence "half size order up"
