5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice looking, light-weight shoes

I purchased these shoes for my husband who is quite fussy about what he wears on his feet. As with most new shoes, he expected blisters on his heels the first time he wore them. As it turned out, no blisters! He said they were very comfortable and has received several compliments on how nice the shoes look.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoes, sized really small
Reviewed by The Traveling Dad from Ohio on Friday, February 17, 2017
Let's be clear. I love the shoes. I love the design, love how light they are, love the soft sole (like Crocs material!) combined with tough vibram accents.

That said, I've bought two pairs of Hi-Tec products, Blazer low boots and West Ridge(?) waterproof hikers. Both were 9.5 Mens. I thought I knew Hi-Tec's sizing. I was wrong, at least with this shoe. The 9.5 was ridiculously small. Tight over the top, smashing my feet in.

So I called STP customer service, explained my predicament and learned that my "Witton size" was actually 10.5 Mens with their help. One exchange later, I have a pair of awesome shoes.

Don't be scared of them, but definitely order up a half size, if not a full size.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great walking shoe

Super arch support and I like the wide toe box.
Leather is nubuck like so it stains easily if something spills on them.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice looking

These are great looking shoes, seem well made. Unfortunately, that's all we know about them because they run very narrow. Ordered the size my husand usually wears and then the next size up. He couldn't get either pair on his foot.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Too snug
Reviewed by Anonymous from Eastern Mass. on Monday, October 10, 2016
I had to loosen the whole lace panel to even get my foot in, then my toes touched the front of the shoe. The heel seemed to fit OK, but the forefoot area was too short, too narrow, and not high enough. They look decent for those of us who prefer to avoid fluorescent shoes, but the heel does not look like something that would stand up to my daily walks on paved country roads.

About Hi-Tec

After retiring from the Dutch Air Force and moving to England in the mid-1970s, the enterprising Frank Van Wezel decided to create the world’s first pair of Hi-Tec shoes designed specifically for playing squash. The idea was a hit, and it wasn’t long before Frank’s company had grown to include a full selection of Hi-Tec boots, shoes and sandals. Today, after nearly four decades of footwear innovation, Hi-Tec hiking boots, tennis shoes and sneakers deliver the best mix of support, comfort and style for people who live for adventure.
