Reviewed by trying to look good from Vancouver, BC on Tuesday, May 7, 2013This coat is not a mainstream, high quality, Hickey product, but is actually from their second (or third tier) "Lindsey" line. It is not fully canvassed, and the fabric, although an attractive blend of colours, has a stiff hand. At the 300-500 dollar level it is a decent buy, but it is nowhere close in value to the original price stated on STP website. I'm returning mine as it is too big, and not high enough quality for my taste.
Reviewed by Dapper Ed from Mississippi on Sunday, April 28, 2013This is the fourth Hickey Freeman sport coat I've purchase from Sierra Trading Post and I've been well satisfied with all of them. Like the others, this is from the HF Lindsey line which means it utilizes a half-canvas construction. While not full-canvas, it is still superior to the majority of off-the-rack sport coats you'll find in department store men's shops. I bought the Dark Tan, which might be more aptly termed Medium Brown. Please note that while the photograph of the full suit is accurate, the detail photo of the tan fabric pattern is not. Zoom in on the photograph of the full suit to get a better idea of the color and pattern. As with other worsted wool coats in this line, the lighter weight is suitable for the warmer months.
Reviewed by KU from Ok on Wednesday, March 6, 2013This is a pretty nice coat - Please not that this is a Lindsey model, and I believe that everything that STP has that is HF is in fact, Hickey Freeman LTD. This isn't a big deal to me, but its a step down in quality from HF mainline, and I think that should be made clear by the STP folks.
Material was nice, easily 3 season. No texture to it, but its worsted wool, pretty normal there. The pattern is very nice and will work with all sorts of pants and shirts - the blue under the brown is a very nice color.
Fit was fine, but it was too long for me so I had to return it.
Reviewed by Overdressed from The Pacific NW on Saturday, March 2, 2013I've liked almost every Hickey Freeman jacket and suit I've tried on. For me, they fit well, and look great. This one was no exception.
The fabric was prettier and had more sheen than I was expecting, and also much lighter weight. I really like it, and I'm betting it will be light enough for summer wear. As with all Hickey stuff I've seen, the fit and finish is top notch, and when I get compliments, I love to brag that its Union Made made in the USA. Worn with a blue shirt that makes the jacket's blue stripes pop, its unassailable.
