Load it up and you'll pay the airlines an extra $50 or $90. The bad itself weights close to 10 lbs, so you're 20% of your limit before you packa thing. Fill the top section and then flip it over to get to the bottom section ... not an easy task. Very bulky, not symetrical so you are packing in odd curvy corners. The outside access pocket intrudes upon the top section making it hard to put clothes in the top section. I did pack a lot into the bag and it held up, just very a very difficult bag to travel with if you are living out of the suitcase vs unpacking at your destination. Hard to get at stuff easily. Hope it wears out soon, but seems prety durable.

Actually purchased High Sierra Wheeled Drop-Bottom Duffel Bag - 32" in October of 2010. The expander zipper broke on my last trip. So it only lasted 2 years before zipper broke. Design of bag makes zipper rub on bottom of bag and ultimately fails. Bag is still usable. Love that I can find it quickly at airport & holds a ton, well more than airlines allows anyways.

    • Answer It will if you shove it hard enough. In most planes, that was my experience, and I took it to Asia, Australia & back, and I only had to check it once.
