Everything I need fits just fine. I like the external frame. It allows me to carry things outside the pack that doesn't need to be in it.

A good pack for our growing boy scout, it is a little heavy but will work well for short term hikes.

Highly recommended. This is a classic external frame backpack that is necessary for many Boy Scouts (easily adjustible as they grow and easy to add gear to the frame). It is lightweight and well designed with strong fabric. I may add a hydration pack for my son (there is a slit for the tube). I intend to occasionally use it, too, since it is so light. I gave it 5 stars for being a high quality external frame backpack. It obviously cannot not compare to some more expensive "modern" designs. The sale price makes this a bargain when compared to the other competitive packs.
