I bought this for my older brother to help facilitate his eclectic style of travel - some business and some pleasure and while he (and I) were happy with its versatility it isn't quite big enough to be the only piece of luggage for a trip longer than 2 days. It will certainly always be within size limits for carryon though so that is a plus. He commented that it was a bit hard to attach the backpack part when it was full

We have a High Sierra rolling suitcase that has held up extremely well. Light but durable. We expect this rolling backpack will be just a durable.

I bought two of the larger bags first but always had my eye on this one. When I got it I knew why I wanted it. Perfect size for weekend trips easy access and lightweight.

Had to return this, as it is just too small for most travel needs. It's an excellent design, and its dimensions seem to be acceptable as a carryon to any major airline [from a casual perusal of a list of airline's carryon size restrictions.] The thing is, I don't fly most of those foreign-flagged carriers that have the worst restrictions, and this bag would barely hold enough for a weekend away. If you do a lot of overnight flights so your actual luggage needs are minimal, this may be ideal for you. But it just wouldn't work for me, & was returned. Thanks STP for your great satisfaction guarantee!

  • Question “How easily does it convert from wheeled to backpack (and vice-versa)? Is it just as simple as picking it up and putting it on, or do you have to "take it apart" - i.e. split it into separate pieces?||Also, when worn as a backpack is it comfortable? I have a wheeled backpack already, but it is uncomfortable when worn as a backpack.”
Asked on 9/1/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer Customer reviews say that the backpack is very comfortable and lightweight. It is also easy to take apart.
Answered on 9/6/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from None
    • Answer It separates to a smaller pack easily with a zipper and packs well and comfortably in that formation. I do not find it light enough to pack the entire piece, as I am 58 and have a neck injury. But I would do it through an airport if necessary, rather than a longer-type pack trip.

  • Question “Does system have a protected pocket for a laptop, in either the backpack or case? Please specify if so.”
Asked on 6/18/2011 12:00:00 AM by KB loves toys from Denver
    • Answer It does not have a protected pocket.
Answered on 6/28/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer The daypack is very padded. The main bag is not. That said, it would be hard to fit anything beyond a netbook in the daypack (and then, little else will fit). I only carried an e-reader in mine, along with other things and it was a snug fit. Ask me about the Eagle Creek version in a week or so, as that's what I've returned this bag to get.

  • Question “Does this backpack have a safe compartment for a laptop computer? If so, what size?||Also, would it be good for carrying a few books in addition to the laptop, both on the back and on wheels?”
Asked on 5/24/2011 12:00:00 AM by Zvibster from Unknown
    • Answer It does not have a protected pocket. It's great for carrying books in either pack, as this is what one of it's main functions is.
Answered on 7/7/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
  • Question “What is the size in litres of the pack, with and without the daypack?|Thanks”
Asked on 4/6/2011 12:00:00 AM by Shikha from Toronto, CA
