[...] I thought it was a hand crank flashlight and radio but it turns out the crank only charges cell phones and the radio and flashlight require batteries. So for me it's a total waste, I already have a few good flashlights and a radio that eat batts this I thought would be sweet cause I could just crank it. :(

The nokia charger doesn't fit the 'small pin' socket used in many phones. When I called the manufacturer, I was told I could purchase adapters from [...]. There are no [...] in my area, but the people at my local [...] had never heard of such a part.

Charged up well and cast a sufficient amoutn of light, but main usage was to b for cell phone charging in remote areas, and the provided LG adaptor did not actually fit my LG charging port.

This is a great idea, combining an emergency flashlight, radio, and cell phone charger into one item, and it works reasonable well. The main drawback is the flimsy plastic construction. The crank handle to charge the batteries feels very cheaply made, and even when turning it gently, I fear that it will snap off after an hour or two of charging. Also, while the batteries can be charge with the crank, the crank is very slow to charge the thing. Using a wall or car adapter is much more convenient, but, alas, a wall adapter is not provided and must be purchased separately (or scrounged from among the various appliance adapters piled up around the house for the correct voltage and amperage). Charging the batteries with a wall adapter when the power is on to use when the power goes out makes a lot more sense than cranking madly to keep up a charge once the lights have already gone out.

Looking for some way to charge my cell phone in a pinch, when we loose electricity/for emergencies. Already have a crank radio but having another one (for the car, I will be keeping this in the car) is a plus. I couldn't believe, at this price, that there would be an adaptor that actually fit my phone, but it does, and it does charge it. But MAN, you need to crank for TEN MINUTES initially to precharge the battery. I cannot imagine cranking that long...it is too hard. So, fully charging the cell phone with this looks bleak. With three minutes of charge, the radio works and gets good reception. The LED flashlight isn't super bright but most LED's arent'...it's fine. I did not test this out to see how long I had to crank to charge my phone or how much radio or light time I get with, say, five minutes of cranking. This gets four stars because of the price to value ration ie it actually works...that surprised me given the price.

Less than a week after I bought, we had a huge windstorm with 2 hour mid-night power outage. This was a lifesaver! Has good light, easy to crank, and strap to keep it handy. My only disapointment(minor) is that I need to find the right adapter to charge my cell. Luckily, power went on before my phone went dead, this time. I'm buying more for Christmas gifts!!

An absolute necessity if the power ever goes off and stays off for any great length of time, this is an item that one hopes never to have to use, but it's a life saver if you need it! A great gift for those for whom you really care.

Does not come with enough cell phone connections. Difficult to find proper size connections for sizes not included. Poor quality all around. Sent mine back for refund.
