Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by Crissy from Washington on Thursday, October 2, 2014I am 5'10" and 150 lbs. I got size Large. It fits well but is not a super tailored fit. I bet a medium would fit but probably with only a t-shirt underneath. I was also worried the sleeves wouldn't be long enough so I went for the large. I am happy I did so that I can wear a sweater under it.
The things I love: The length, it's quite long. A little lower than mid thigh. Also the sleeves are long enough, which is a problem for me in many coats. I love the hood. It actually fits well without pulling on my head and it feels like it will stay on in the wind. I like the collar, too. It buttons all the way up comfortably. I like the weight of the fabric, not too light and not too heavy. It is not for super cold weather, but I use down for that. I think this will work most of the year in the Pacific Northwest. Although I don't think I'll wear it in a lot of rain without a shell.
I basically gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the pockets. I wish they were a little more secure for my phone and keys. They are shallow on the outside as you can see in the picture. But it is not a deal breaker. I haven't washed it yet, but if it washes horribly I will update my review!
Reviewed by L from Fairbanks, AK on Tuesday, September 9, 2014Perfect for cooler weather and even a little wind. Fits true to size. Only down fall - the bottons don't hold the best.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by grammy in nh from nh on Monday, August 25, 2014Got the XL back. It will be perfect for a lot of winter days. Roomy enough to layer under. It is a bit narrow through the waste but generous shoulders.
Warm and best of all - easy care.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Warm water diver from Pasadena on Tuesday, July 29, 2014I ordered a large and it is still too small. ( I usually wear a medium.)

Hi! When I put the jacket flat on the bed, all buttoned up, and measure the width of the chest (from one underarm to the other), I get 20 inches. The measurement for the hip area is 19.5". Keep in mind that the fabric is plushy fleece, so actual inside measurements would be a little less than that. My jacket is Medium. HTH.
Thank you for getting back so quickly - I'm looking at the size Large so I'm guessing it would be about a 42"-43" chest and 41"-42" hips?
I orginally got a XL and thought it was too big, so I returned it for a L. The Large was too tight. The buttons pulled, may have worked if it was a zipper but buttons don't alow the rest of the garment to stretch. Really wanted this coat, because it will be perfect for Northeast winters. Reordered the XL. It will allow sweaters or vests underneath. So the XL traveled back and forth across the country twice !!!
Laying flat :
Armpit to armpit = 23"
total length from shoulder to hem = 40"
Waist = 21"
Sleeve from armpit to hem = 20.5"
I had found a mfg size chart, http://www.hotchillys.com/k/tech-size-chart and that's why I got the Large but it didn't fit right. It is pretty straight from the waist area and like the other person said, the fabric is thick so measurements are outside measurement. I usually wear a 14 comfortably. I am 5'5" 140 lb.
