Verified Buyer Reviewed by Random consumer from Catskill Mtns, NY on Saturday, June 6, 2015Waterproof, well-made, very light weight, holds more than I expected. The bag is large enough to hold 8.5x11 manila folders, so I can use it for work purposes. But I have to ding it for not having a good cell phone pocket. The candidate pocket is weirdly sewn up halfway and is of little use for a phone. Probably 4 stars and a fraction, but I can't give five stars.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by June from Minnesota on Thursday, September 25, 2014I was looking for something smaller, more waterproof yet more stylish than a Timbuk2 or Mountain Hardware messenger bag (my previous bas). The Hyalite bag is very sturdy and compact, and well over 1/3 smaller than my old bags, yet it can handle the varied loads I carry day to day. It is wonderfully deep and wide. My only slight misgiving is that it closes with a zipper top underneath the top flap - wondering how long that zipper will stay working well under the strain of capacity loads. But I have been using it for a few weeks now and love it, especially the color (kiwi green) - it is so cute! I don't feel like I have to apologize for my "big clunky" bag anymore.
Reviewed by Erin from Chicago on Thursday, March 27, 2014Great bag to take to the gym or carry essentials while running errands around town. Perfect size & waterproof to protect everything electronic. It's cool that there is a waist strap that secures the bag to your torso for cycling or longboarding.
If you're looking to carry work files, this isn't the bag for you. It's about 1" too sort to fit a standard file folder comfortably, although you could bend one in there if you had to.
Reviewed by AO from So Cal on Sunday, March 2, 2014If you want a low volume water tight machine this is it. Very minimalist in design. Not a lot of buzzers and whistles, just a good secure area to put your stuff. Awesome buckles and hardware, unique finish and plenty of padding on the shoulder strap.
Question & Answer
“Why does the video just spin and show the outside of this bag? What's inside? Pockets? Zippered parts? What color is the interior? That was s waste of time :(”
Interior (of my black one) is light gray. One zipped pocket on underside of closing flap. Otherwise minimal: two pen holders, one key clip, one tiny non-closing pocket I use for a cell phone charger, one small poorly designed semi-pocket (non-closing) I try to use for cell phone.
Sorry, I forgot there's also a zipped mesh pocket covering pretty much the entire inside back (all the way across, most of the way down).
“Does this have many pockets/dividers/organizable space inside, or is it mostly just a single open compartment in there?”
It has one roomy mesh pocket, two pen holder slips, two credit-card sized pockets and a small pocket that should be for a cell phone but is a tad too narrow, so I put my reading glasses in it! The bag closes with a zipper and has a very strong clip on the outside to close. Also the flap has a front zip and an inner zip pocket. The back of the bag is well-padded. Mostly the inner compartment is one big space...
