I purchased this to play fetch with my energetic dog. After the first few fetches, the tennis ball split in half inside the fuzzy covering, which caused my dog to focus on chewing the ball apart instead of fetching. Tennis balls are easy to replaice, however. The scoop required my foot to help the ball into it, but that is still better than getting slobber on my hands. Helping me work on my swing while exercising my dog - good concept!

It's too bad this toy is a close out. I bought 3. It does eventually crack at the end, but that's after at least a year of heavy use. My shorthairs love it and so does my arm!

We have a 1 year old Australian Shepherd who never seems to get enough exercise...she is a busy, busy girl. This toy seems to be "the medicine"! She wants to play with this constantly, and we indulge her at least 2-3 times a day, and she plays until she can barely breathe! No amount of walks, fetch, or even running this dog can add up to 15 minutes of blasting balls with the Bark and Bat. If you have a high energy dog, buy two! (Wish I did. I shudder to think what will happen when/if we break this, as I love the ability to bat it or whip it from the scoop overhand without touching a spitty ball each time.)

Look the price is right at STP. This isn't as good as the Chuck-it ---- you can't throw nearly as far. However, we have plenty of outdoor room here so we can heave the ball a long way -- unless you have room to throw a mile this will work just as well. Plusses include a fun scoop to pick the ball up (our doberman is so fast that the scoop helps us to get the ball before she does) and the bat for hitting the ball. We have had a lot of fun with it.
