Ibex Cirque Jacket - Soft Shell (For Women)

I own an older version of this jacket and because of the great price purchased the Ibex jacket in the same size as my current one. This jacket is great, but it has more of a fitted structure than the previous model. I like to be able to layer a mid weight sweater/hoodie under my jackets. With this jacket, I feel like a sausage with a hoodie layered underneath. This would be great as a more fitted jacket with a long sleeve t-shirt beneath. I live in a cold weather climate and was looking for a replacement to my favorite and more relaxed fit Ibex jacket. I sent it back.

I really like this jacket. Wish the sleeves were a bit longer, but I guess my arms are probably longer than average. But the jacket is warm, blocks wind, breaths, and, it looks good too.

This is a very thin yet warm jacket with great wool lining and soft collar. It folds up to nothing and easily fits in a carry on or even a large purse for travel. The small fit perfectly and I often vary between small and medium in jackets. The plum color is beautiful. The only draw back is the front pocket placement is too high. When my hands are in them, they pull down on the jacket making it uncomfortable at my wrists and shoulders. I would also like to see some interior pockets. There is a draw cord at the bottom and elastic at the sleeves. Over all a great jacket, I really wanted to keep it for all it's other positive attributes, but the pocket placement made it a no-go for me.

Bought this to replace my sauna-like softshell...the wool blend/breathability was appealing to me. It is NOT itchy..really! This jacket delivers as a softshell, and the wool component doesn't make me feel wrapped in plastic. Bonus: The medium fit my 5'8" 138#, broad shoulder, long-arm frame just fine. (Size up if you want to wear heavy sweaters under it). It's even shaped somewhat, so it doesn't look boxy or baggy...good workout and casual wear jacket. Haven't tried it for really heavy outdoor activity yet.

I expected a heavier soft shell, which this is not. I almost returned it but have come to appreciate the warmth to weight ratio. This is now my Go To for anything casual or after working out. It is a great mid-layer for cold days, under a heavier shell. Plum color is rich and dark. A chest, sleeve or internal pocket or two would be nice. Sizing is generous but probably true. Stretch in fabric is lovely. Not waterproof but fine for light moisture.

I use this jacket in below freezing temps combined with a wool jersey for cycling. Flattering appearance because of the style. Has 2 good sized zipper pockets on the sides.

I'm on my second Cirque jacket, having purchased the first one in 1999. It's a perfect jacket for backpacking, cross-country skiing, and with a base layer and sweater underneath, a great backcountry and in-bounds ski jacket. It is not a rain jacket, but will shed light amounts of moisture. The only time I wear a shell over it is during wet snow storms or in rainy weather. It breathes very well, and as a result is not completely wind-proof. It doesn't stink even after a week of use backpacking. My only complaint is this jacket seems to run small in the hips. I am 5'4" and a fit and muscular 140 pounds. I had to buy the large because the medium won't stay put over my hips. It rides up to my narrow waist and stays there. Having to wear a large makes the sleeves a touch long for me, but with the elastic at the wrist, the sleeves don't fall over my hands. Just a little more room--an inch or so--in the hip area would have made it possible to purchase the medium.

Just didn't fit well - cut was bulky. Loved the color and the style, but needed to be more streamlined.

I bought this jacket for a hiking trip and I've been wanting an IBEX for a long time. I am 5'6, 135 lbs, and am always on the line between a medium and a small and I went with the Medium, well I'm sending it back today for a small. When something doesn't fit well, I won't wear it. It's baggy around the middle, not fitted at all. SO if you are around my size go for the small! otherwise, perfect softshell. My boyfriend wears his for everything and he's been wearing it for 2 years now (men's version- icefall).

This jacket is sharp and looks great with jeans! I run, take cross-training classes, and lift weights - this jacket wicks away the moisture, without leaving a smell behind like some lycra fabrics and yet stays toasty warm. Goes from the gym to the weekend. It's a little pricy so I gave it 4 stars, but I enjoy mine all the time and am thinking of a 2nd one as a treat.
