“I bought this as a potential replacement for an older Ibex Icefall. The Clive is typical Ibex in terms of being a high quality, attractive garment. The Clive is cut shorter and slimmer than the earlier Icefall, but not as slim as other maker's Softshells; I can wear it with a heavy baselayer but no more than that. With the Icefall I could also wear a mid-layer. The fabric is nowhere near as stretchy as the earlier Icefall (or other mfg softshells). The trade off will be, perhaps, that the Clive is more water repellant than the Icefall. The Clive will likely remain stiffer / less stretchy than the Icefall. The pitzips are a bother in that they don't really add much functionality to the jacket (or so I've found to be the case so far) while adding sufficient bulk as to make the arm holes feel too high. With STP sale incentives, the Clive was very reasonably priced. At retail or a slightly discounted price; there are other, better options available.”
