“well made but stiff”

“I loved my old stretchy comfy Icefall that could do everything. I bought the Pingo as a replacement to that old worn jacket. I wanted to like it. It is well designed for climbing and backcountry ski tours. Alas, this new material just doesn't make a good softshell. It has very little stretch, it is stiff enough that it feels akward at the cuffs and elbows. The whole jacket moves when you reach high. Feels more like a armored motorcycle jacket than an active outdoors jacket. Even the wool on the inside feels itchy compared to the old climawool lite (could be due to stiffness of the fabric). Some reviews say it softens up, but I wasn't going to take the chance. Returned it. It did appear well made as all Ibex stuff. Bring back the Icefall!”
