Ibex Pingo Jacket - Soft Shell (For Women)

Love the Ibex brand, which is normally very pricey. This is s great soft-shell jacket, great to wear skiing on warmer days, or layered under a hard shell jacket on cooler days. Water resistant, would keep dry in light rain. NOT insulated. Made of wool (not your typical synthetic soft shell material). It kept me warm in 10 degree weather with down coat under it and a hard shell over it. I wore it over a down coat in 20 degree weather and was warm. Would be best for spring skiing and very active winter sports (snow shoeing, xc ski). Breathable. Yellow color is butter yellow, I like it but it may not be for everyone.

I don't have/wear a lot of "sporty" clothing so I wanted to get a few key pieces for outdoor activities, exercise and before and after exercise. I can see how if you have a sporty style this jacket would be a keeper - but if I'm going to have one or two such things, this one doesn't make the cut. It's Ibex but doesn't have enough wool to justify the cost, even on sale - at least for me.

I was drawn to this Jacket primarily because of the color! I was disappointed that, although I always wear a medium, it was tight around my hips.

The front looks great, but the back sort of puffs out. I'm petite, so it would probably look good on a taller person. The fabric is great. Sleeves are far too long. Not right for a short person.

I loved everything about the jacket except that it was a bit itchy and i'll be wearing over short sleeve shirts.

I love the feel of this jacket.Very compfortable. It is lightweight but warm inside with a sleek,trim wind-stopping shell. I am wearing it almost daily. The cut is a bit snug in the chest, and I had to return a smaller size for this reason (not usually an issue for me).

I plan to wear this as a versatile casual wear jacket. I gambolled on a size Small when I frequently wear a Medium on top, hoping to try a cool color. I was mistaken and will exchange it for a larger size. It is especially snug across the chest, and this is not usually an issue for me. I believe it will serve to block wind well and looks trim. Good stylish cut.

not the most flattering ibex I have owned. only 12% merino...will see how warm it is.

i've had ibex items in the past and am familiar with their product peculiarities. they are made from climbers, so assume that people are fit/in shape. arm length might be too long if you're overweight. also, ibex tends to take a while to break in and is usually stiff for the first few wears. finally, there have been complaints about the double zipper. as long as the two are flush together when i go to zip, i have had no problems. if i am in a hurry, i sometimes need a few tries. i love the brand and find this to be in line with my other ibex items.

I fell in love with the Cranberry color of this jacket but was disappointed when it arrived. The material is stiff and slightly itchy and the fit is very boxy and unflattering. The jacket seems well made however and probably would perform well, but I was looking for a more streamlined fit.
