About Icebreaker Blast Jacket - Merino Wool (For Men)
Discontinued. A technical trail jacket that's also at home in the neighborhood, Icebreaker's Blast jacket combines a two-layer windproof, water-resistant shell with a soft, antimicrobial merino wool body lining.
- Icebreaker harvests merino wool exclusively from sheep grown in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, where conditions are extreme and the wool responds accordingly
- Itch-free merino wool body lining is temperature regulating, moisture wicking and odor resistant
- Two-layer windproof polyester shell with Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish
- Vented back
- Stretch side and underarm panels for freedom of movement
- Full-zip front with internal draft flap and zipper garage
- Zip hand and chest pockets

Instead of a tan color, it was almost a brown. The brownish color looks much better than what I expected from the picture.
This jacket fits the same as other Icebreaker gear I've had. A medium fits my 6' 175lbs frame well. There is only enough room underneath for a light baselayer. The zippers feel like they are good quality. The napoleon pocket is not large enough for my cell phone (phablet) but should fit a small wallet or the like.
I have not tested the weather resistance, but the hard face feels like it should hold up well to light precipitation. The merino lining is very thin, had this not been an Icebreaker garment I might not have noticed it.
I would not have been happy with this jacket at MSRP, but I am satisfied with the price I paid through STP. -
