These are nice looking socks but they aren't as good as I was expecting. For merino wool they are not very warm and are quite thin. They are also larger than other wool socks I've bought before with the foot portion larger than my actual foot so the heel stretches up to my Achilles. I bought a size large and wear a 10-11 size shoe. They also don't stay in place. I wore them under jeans tucked inside mid-calf boots and they slipped further and further down my leg with every step - really irritating. I'm going to try washing & drying them in the dryer to see if that brings any of the stretch to life but I don't have much hope. They may just become workplace socks.

These are soft, stretchy, well-made socks. But for being merino wool, they're not very warm. I've worn them many times in 30-50 degree weather in wool-lined leather Reiker boots and still complained about my feet being cold. They are thin, and compress the calf just enough, but not as much as a compression sock. I've never had a problem with them falling down. My usual shoe size is 36 (5.5 or 6). I bought a size medium in case of shrinking, but they didn't shrink. Plenty of room in the toe. In summary, these socks are great, but if you're looking for warmth, these will not cut it.
