Icebreaker Coastal 340 Mayfair Jacket – Merino Wool, Wind Resistant (For Women)

This jacket has more flair than it appears in the photo, and would work well for someone curvier. I am too boxy for it, and it flairs away from the body below the waist - which I don't need but someone else might find totally awesome. The fabric is lovely, the sleeves are long (oh joy), but it just didn't work for me.

This coat is so beautiful I wear it for dress and with jeans. It is very warm without having to much bulk. Impecable tailoring, great desing.Sleeves are a bit long, but that does happen with ready to wear clothes, just shorten them.

Wool has always been a great material for cool to cold weather but lacked the versatility or functionability of many synthetics. Not anymore this is the answer to anybody looking at Pea Coats wishes. It functions like fleece for movement with the look and warmth of a midweight pea coat. The sleeves were a bit long but my wife is only 5'3" if looking for more of a fitted style buy 1 size down or exact size if american brands are your normal wares. We tend to buy more Euro/Int'l brands and they run smaller if you are like us buy one size larger for layering underneath. You will not be dissappointed, the warmth is great and the full zipper front adds to the wind proofing. My wife searches for reasons to wear this piece.

Had a chance to finally use the coat over the weekend in MI. Perfect with a cashmere sweater/jeans or over a dress(attended a wedding). Sleeves are nice and long. Great coat.

Icebreaker is a master at crafting technically sophisticated garments that also have a modern, edgy style. This coat subtly suggests a traditional peacoat, but veers away towards something much more modern. Beautiful materials and craftsmanship. My only criticism is that the placket for the covered buttons gaps away from the body. The zipper/button system cuts even the tiniest draft, and the windblocking membrane works wonders.

not worth the price tag. best quality is the legnth. perfect to hide rear and for in-out of car. will return it b/c so many mid-weight jackets have the same function. not special enough to keep.

I have longer than average arms so I bought this coat one size up. I could have bought my usual size but I'm glad I didn't. I will now have more room inside for my bulky sweaters. Yeah! This coat is suprisingly light weight for the warmth factor. I'm really looking forward to the weather getting colder here in North Texas so that I can show off my new coat. I just love it! Icebreaker never disappoints!

Boy do I wish this coat fit. It is just what I was looking for and the sleeves and length are perfect. BUT It is tight through the bust and midsection. I am 5'3 and normally wear a 10 petite pants and sometimes a 12 petite top because of broad shoulders. I ordered the Large in the coat and could zip it up, but the buttons gapped significantly. There is no way I could even wear a sweater underneath. If I lose another 10 lbs. this probably would fit, but I am NOT doing that again - buying something in the hopes that I'll get into it. It is a beautiful, functional coat.

The medium was too snug for layering so I exchanged it for the large. Even on the medium, the sleeves were long, but on the Large the sleeves fall below my fingers. I have altered the length and love the jacket but what a weird fit!

As an Icebreaker fan - I just had to purchase this jacket for the upcoming fall weather. I live in Southern California and this jacket is perfect for Spring/Fall and our light Winters. The jacket looks much better in person than on this picture (the collar can be kept open as shown or buttoned up which gives it a stylish appearance)and only one button is visible at the top which adds to the great appearance. I selected the Blue color which is more navy in appearance to me. I started off with a small (4 to 6), however, it was too tight. I'm petite 5'2 and weigh 127 pounds. In most of my clothes I wear a size 6. So I reordered the medium (8 to 10) which fits much better and will allow me to wear more clothes underneath. Although the arm length is much longer (close to 2 inches), I folded them up and the lining on the inside is so nice I may just wear this look because of the quality of the gray lining fabric or have it altered at a later date. Since the jacket is slim fitting consider ordering a size larger if your measurements are close. The quality of the jacket is excellent and I can dress it up or down. Very satisfied with this purchase.
