These are admittedly my first cycling shorts, but they are great. I am a currently larger person taking up cycling to get into shape, and these fit and cover me well, and have dramatically reduced my butt fatigue. I really love the wool. And yes, I wore them 4 times before washing them! I hung them outside to dry and they dried in a few hours. These are great shorts. I will definitely buy more.

Wool cycling shorts are rare. But give it up for Icebreaker for a well-designed, well-made and highly attractive pair of shorts for long distance cycling. Great for centuries, double centuries and brevet/randonneuring. And thankfully, no silly designs or motifs to make it a "chick" short. The soft New Zealand wool means no stink, yet soft against the skin. Assos shorts had been my go to brand, but now they have serious competition with these.

I'm 5'2" and 134# (female) and ordered the small. The short fit fine in terms of the waist, length, and grippers on the legs. I liked the wool/lycra combo. The problem was the padding. I have narrow hips and the padding design was wide and so it was very uncomfortable walking and riding in them. They also had a lot of indentions along the pad and I found that uncomfortable as well. I like a pad that is seamless and narrow through the hips. Pearl Izumi seems to have mastered this for the women's short and so I'll stick with those.
