These socks are a great weight and a good height. I can wear them with my hiking boots and they don't slip below the top of the boot. They are also warm but don't make my feet hot, something I'm always struggling with in the summer. They also get even softer when washed! ( I line dry my wool socks, by the way.). Couldn't ask for a better sock!

I bought one pair to try, bought 2 more pair the next week. They are soft, light weight and high enough to wear with hiking boots. I am always looking for the perfect sock, these make me happy. Icebreaker is pricey, but every time I've splurged on it, it has been worth it!

Well made, true to size, great color combinations, comfortable to wear and performs as it should. Can't see why this would be called a 2nd, but I certainly have reaped the rewards of owning a top quality sock by a famous maker at an affordable price.

These are great socks, for my husband (size 13). The womens large are really, really huge: mens size 13. The wool is very nice, and the design is really nice. My husband loves them.

Love these socks for hiking/running. Lightweight yet warm. Right and left foot means they fit well in the toes. The sizing seems to be off, however. I usually wear a size 7.5 shoe, and an 8 in running/hiking shoes. The small sock fits me perfectly (and sometimes gets a little stretched out in the heel). If you're near the bottom of the size range, I suggest sizing down for the best fit. I have two pairs in different colors and found the sizing consistently runs big, so it's not just one dye lot.

I usually give this brand 5 stars, this got 4 because you might not like the wide toe area; it could possible bunch in hiking shoes/boots. I bought these for someone else so can't give a personal report on their function. However, I can say that this brand is great so know they will launder well and last forever.
