I bought these for winter wear to replace some icebreaker pants that I had last year. These are even better. The shaping is great, contributing to a very comfortable fit. They are warm and soft like almost every other icebreaker product that I've had. Right now, I primarily wear them alone under jeans, or with additional layers, while selling Christmas trees.

I'm approx 5'7" 126 lbs and ordered the medium based on a previous review. I really like that they sit below the waist. I can't take the waist any looser but the legs aren't very stretchy and I can only just get the bottoms over my size 10 feet. I would've liked a little more stretch. More sleek than soft but not scratchy. Thinner than my Smartwool bottoms and will fit better under city pants for a lighter weight option. I haven't actually worn them outside yet, so not sure how warm/breathable they are, but Icebreaker is great, so I'm not worried about that. They're not "the best ever" but so far they're keepers.

Icebreaker makes top quality stuff. These are no exception. First rate. Soft, good fit and durable. I like the fact that these have a lower rise than some of their underwear in previous years. This makes the fit under jeans work very well.

Bought this for my daughter who attends college in Minneapolis. Besides being truly comfortable, its the best base layer she has ever had.

I just wore these yesterday under a pair of hiking pants, and it was a 28 degree day. It was the perfect weight and warmth of base layer for the conditions. I did not sweat, but was not cold either. I'm completely sold on merino wool. It doesn't get any better than this!

I bought a large because this brand tends to run small. These have really tight legs and the waist elastic only has slight stretch. It's like elastic that has seen a few years of heavy use. I'm a pretty standard size 10, wear size 6 undies and have rather skinny legs. I like that these are low rise, but if you want a pair that comes up to the waist, these aren't for you. They are lower in the back, about 3/4" higher than a Jockey bikini panty. They're higher in the front, coming to just below my belly button. They are warm and comfy but could never be worn without pants over them because the waist elastic wouldn't hold them up. The waist is true to size, and a medium would have been a better choice for me, but since the legs are nice and snug, I kept these. I wouldn't buy another pair, the fit is just weird, but under jeans they're perfectly comfy and warm.

These leggins are great! I wear them on long walks in the cold/damp/rainy northwest...and they are equally perfect under the occasional skirt situation in the cooler times. The waist rides a little lower than I'm used to, but it works. They weigh nothing, and I can imagine throwing them into my bag for travels. All around, a worthwhile purchase.

I have tried these out hiking locally in cool, but not cold weather. For that, they are good. The true test will come next month when I spend several weeks outdoors in a cold, windy climate. One feature I was looking for that I can vote on already is quick-dry. I washed them, hung them in the bath, and they dried overnight.

i work in a place that's heavily air-conditioned year-round and wool long johns help me acclimate without bulking me up too much. i have two pairs and wear them almost daily. my only beef with this style is that (unlike my first pair) these are not cut to give a little extra coverage over the lower back--so bending over lets in too much breeze!
