Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by theo from asheville, NC on Saturday, December 6, 2014I love my women's Realfleece 260 hoodie, and the new Realfleece is lighter weight, so it was easy to choose this for my guy when he wanted a vest for cold northern winters. Nova is a very dark teal green- nice change from black but not too bright, so it's good for the city as well. Smooth, close knit on the outside: no pilling. Zip neck is not too high. Slim fit in the body. My hoodie has been on multiple trips, overseas, hiking at home, layered under and over, washed on gentle cycle inside out (zipped closed), and I expect this to wear just as well. A great buy.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by 2pdl from Royalton, Vermont on Friday, October 17, 2014I am a great fan of Icebreaker, so I lept at this vest. It has largely, but not completely, fulfilled my expectations. First the good: it is longer than most vests, and for this long-waisted guy that is welcome indeed. I love the fit. I'm 6'1" @ 185 and the large fits perfectly. The pockets are useful while being unobtrusive. Its weight is fairly light, so it is a welcome addition on a cool morning. But. that's also a limitation: it does not, in my view, provide "ample midweight warmth." My second qualm applies only if, like me, you plan to use it as an outer garment and not as a base layer. It has a smooth surface with a bit of a sheen. Although I didn't notice it when I first wore it, my wife commented that she didn't think it was terribly attractive. I think that's a bit harsh, but it is not as attractive as the other Icebreaker woolies that I have. All that said, would I buy it again. You bet!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Allie lover of wool from Ontario on Sunday, June 1, 2014I ordered this vest for my sister's boyfriend (in size large) but liked it so much my sister and I don't know whether to give it to our dad or her son! My dad is 6' (165lbs) but has broadened in his 80s from a medium to a large in icebreaker. My nephew is about 6'2" (getting taller) and about 170 lbs (broader in the shoulders that dad). It fits both of them. My dad already has this vest in the jacket version (in the teal colour) and you can't pry it off him! The fleece doesn't stretch as much as the wool and so other reviewers say to order size up. Vests can fit big though and still work. My dad says his jacket is lightweight and REALLY warm.
Reviewed by Colin from Oregon on Thursday, May 22, 2014I own a lot of Icebreaker clothing and most of it is well made. However, the zipper came unstitched after a couple months of light use on this vest, pretty disappointing. It's also very long which usually is a good thing as I'm 6'1" 180lbs but it seems about an inch or 2 longer than it should be.
Reviewed by Steve A from Boston, MA on Monday, January 27, 2014thinner than I expected, but as warm as I was hoping for. time to get a hoodie version!

Yes, this is a shade of black.
It does have a subtle green hue to it. Almost black.
