Verified Buyer Reviewed by Chilepeppa from New Mexico & Mid-Coast Maine on Friday, August 8, 2014XL is truly a size 16... usually Icebreaker runs small but this coat was TTS and the sleeves very long... not good for me so returned. Nice quality, though!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Cotton Lover from Minnesota on Wednesday, May 14, 2014I returned the coat. I'm sure it is very warm, and I found it to be true to size. But I thought I was buying a classic, double-breasted wool coat. I'm not sure how to describe the design of this coat other than to say it is not classic. There is only one row of buttons so I don't think it can rightly be called a peacoat.
Also, there was a stiffness to the fabric that caused problems. The collar did not lie entirely flat, for example. And when I sat, the front of the coat buckled in an unattractive way. There is a zipper, so one would presumably stay warm in spite of the buckling. But I didn't like the way it looked.
Reviewed by Lori from New York on Monday, October 28, 2013I own a lot of icebreaker. They last for years when taken care of properly and are rugged enough to take the punishment. Just never throw in hot water, dryer, or use fabric softener and they will last last last and stay soft. This coat is terrific. I kept in mind that sierratradingpost carries overages and irregulars etc so I thought this would be a good 'call' on my judgment. I am an L-XL in icebreaker as I am broad shouldered, 5'8" and about 160. This is important cause icebreaker can run slim to very slim. It is meant to be body hugging for warmth and movement. This Skyline Trench runs slightly slimmed down so I thought 2XL good choice. I was right as even the shoulders are slimmer. It looks smooth. Polished, a beautiful jacket for work or casual and a deep black that is classy. Feels great and warm yet not a heavy jacket. I recommend it highly.
